Three In One

I am a British mongrel
Scotland vs. England made into man
A battle ground lies within me
Where passion for a land
Fights with love of security
Those Highlands light a fire in my blood
A longing to touch the cold earth
And have its cool waters douse the flame
But my accent always betrays me
I hear English reserve pour forth from my mouth
Like a verbal bowler hat
My two sides continue to fight
A centuries old war for this land of legends
And everything seems all right
Until the Jew in me joins in.
